Bring the family along to make, play and experiment with Hatched 2026 artist Kat Chaplin in this hands-on workshop inspired by her playful practice of transformation.  

Using playdough moulds shaped from toys and found objects, participants will melt, pour and cast bright colourful sculptures from recycled crayons. 

Grounded in Chaplin’s interest in reimagining everyday materials, this workshop invites children and adults to explore colour, texture and shape together as old crayons are transformed into something entirely new. 

And the best part? Everyone will head home with a colourful masterpiece—made to share, to show and to treasure together.
