At PICA we recognise that we are situated within the unceded lands of the Whadjuk people of the Noongar Nation. We pay our respects and offer our gratitude to Elders past and present, and to those emerging leaders in the community. We acknowledge all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and the importance of their care and continued connection to culture, community and Country.

Always was, always will be.

We are open 10am–5pm. Our exhibitions are always free.

Quick Response Artist-in-Residence

Laura Sikes’ creative practice explores how technology is shaping our understanding of body and identity. She will use her time in residence at PICA to create new photographic images of her body to explore how we curate identities online.

Laura Sikes is a neurodiverse artist and florist based in Koombannaup (Bunbury). Their work is largely concerned with the body, the relationship between place and self and the role of technology in shaping the language of the body. Sikes has studied art and photography at Edith Cowan University and North Metro TAFE and has exhibited in numerous galleries including The National Portrait Gallery, Perth Centre for Photography and Kolbusz Space. Their work spans photography, printmaking, installation, poetry and painting.
