At PICA we recognise that we are situated within the unceded lands of the Whadjuk people of the Noongar Nation. We pay our respects and offer our gratitude to Elders past and present, and to those emerging leaders in the community. We acknowledge all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and the importance of their care and continued connection to culture, community and Country.

Always was, always will be.

We are open 10am–5pm. Our exhibitions are always free.

Workshops for Schools: Through the Looking Glass

Students will learn to create their own animated films with filmmaker/visual artists Ned Reilly and Poppy van Oorde-Grainger.
After a detailed tour of the exhibition students will learn the basics of stop-motion animation with simple iPad software. Responding to the themes in the exhibition students will animate their dreams using mixed media including collage, drawing and 3D modelling.
Ned Reilly is a young artist working with video sculpture, painting and performance. Poppy van Oorde-Grainger is a filmmaker and an experienced community arts facilitator who has worked with children and young people across Australia and the UK since 2002, helping them to tell their stories through art making.
