Step into PICA After Hours—our reimagined opening night where new work, bold energy and late-night atmosphere collide. Be first through the doors and experience the next wave of Australian artists in full swing.

This year, Hatched brings together 21 artists from 20 art schools nationwide. Across the night, we’ll unveil the 2026 Dr Harold Schenberg Arts Awards—the most significant prize pool for emerging artists in the country.

Award recipients are selected by Hannah Mathews (Director, PICA), Dr Theo Costantino (Director, Lawrence Wilson Art Gallery), and guest judge Khaled Sabsabi—Australia’s representative at the 2026 Venice Biennale and Hatched alum.

From 7:00pm, the building shifts. jade//vision takes over the first-floor balcony with a one-night-only set—improvised, high-voltage and impossible to replicate. Expect a fluid collision of jazz, hip hop, house and everything in between.

Featuring Josh Chan (Asian Millhouse), Sasha Britto (sleep1800), POW! Negro, Mali Jo$e, Sam Banks-Smith (Butter), Isla Imogen and special guests.
